Comprehensive and Concierge Counseling

Alycia is a sole proprietor, and this is by design. I am the only one who works with my students. I don’t take on more students once I reach capacity. In this way, my students receive the attention and time that they need and deserve.
The Comprehensive and Concierge Counseling package provides the student with unlimited expert guidance throughout the entire process. This concierge package is highly recommended for students who plan on applying to schools that require or recommend supplemental essays, scholarships, resumes, portfolio and honors application submissions. This package is especially helpful for students who could use support with time management, deadline tracking, and total guidance from start to finish.
• Meet monthly and eventually weekly with student and parents to set goals, plans and expectations
• Discuss prioritizing sleep, exercise and nutrition their connection to overall performance academically, socially, emotionally and physically
• Suggest courses for the remainder of the year, next year
• Facilitate skills, interests and careers assessments
• Remind student to meet with school counselor to establish an ongoing relationship and self advocacy
• Supervise the standardized testing plan, including which test(s) to take, when to take them, and how to prepare
• Educate and edit during resume and cover letter creation process or assist with LinkedIn profile
• Assist with internship applications, exploration of academic interests, potential research opportunities, selection of summer extracurriculars, job shadowing, passion projects, small business start ups and special projects
• Evaluate the student's record, including high school transcript, standardized test results, extracurricular activities, athletic activities, and special talents.
• Facilitate family discussion regarding college choices and careers
• Develop a college admissions strategy and timeline based upon college admissions goals
• Help find and strengthen any weaknesses in the student’s academic and extracurricular profiles
• Advise on deepening involvement in extracurriculars, internships, paid work, research and passion projects
• Advise student regarding college visits, including what to look for at each school
• Assist with the selection of recommendation letter writers and follow-ups
• Provide the most current information about colleges and best judgment about options and college admissions choices
• Create and refine a list of likely, target and reach schools for the student to visit and prepare the student to conduct meaningful visits.
• Continually coach student on application materials, timelines, and deadlines for all schools
• Review of the Common Application and other university applications to ensure complete perfection
• Remind student of recommendation letter follow-ups
• Provide essay support, including brainstorming, editing, and proofreading
• Deliver the most current information about colleges and best judgment about options available.
• Mentor student regarding correspondence with admission representatives and faculty in area of interest
• Develop student interview skills and confidence through mock interviews.
• Assist with wait list and/or final selection process
• Provide support continual support with email correspondence on merit offers, deferrals and wait lists
• Meet with student before Decision Day on May 1st to ensure that student is confident in their choice, paperwork is complete, and that they understand the financial offer from the chosen university
